Printmaking

March 23, 2007

I have been doing printmaking for many years and especially love lino block printing.  I have many stamps that I incorporate into various other projects, such as collage and artist trading cards.  Sometimes I make stationary from the stamps as well.  Here are a couple examples of stamps I have made.

The top two birds are made into artist trading cards which are 2.5X3.5 cards made any way you like.  The idea is then to trade with other artists.  There are many site on the internet devoted to trading card such as this oneIsland Blue also runs free workshops which I sometimes facilitate.

I too have been printmaking for several years now and I find myself to be extremely fond of linoleum prints.

I especially like your birdatc2 print. When I look at it I envision reversal of roles. The “traditional” stamp has become the focal point whereas the relief stamp has sort of taken the place of the traditional stamp. It’s quite beautiful really how you were able to blend the two elements together.

The esty prints have amazing details with the texture from the printed surface.

I consider myself fortunate to have found your blog. Well done I say! Thank you for sharing your passion for relief prints with a fellow relief print enthusiast.
